Hard Work

“Getting married and making a living” is not the end goal at all; it is a means to an end goal. Marriage and livelihood makes sense only when viewed as aids in fulfilling life’s mission. Getting married is a wonderful mitzvah, but if a person doesn’t view marriage as a way of getting closer to Hashem, why get married? Why serve as a slave in fulfilling the needs of a wife and children. (Conversely) when marriage is a means to achieving one’s ultimate goal, it becomes deeply gratifying.
